Bus tour: Aroostook County kickoff
The Collins for Senator Campaign Bus took off from Bangor this morning to the cheers of a crowd of supporters gathered on Main Street. We're rolling up 95 into Aroostook County for the final day of campaigning before election day, check in throughout the day for updates!
Senator Collins at the Bangor Craft Fair
Senator Collins spent time at the Bangor Civic Center today, for the Bangor Arts & Crafts Show. She had the chance to speak with many artists and visitors, including a quilter named Carole Halteman. Carole is part of an organization called Quilts of Valor, from their website:
The mission of the QOV Foundation is to cover ALL war wounded and injured servicemembers and veterans from the War on Terror whether physical or psychological wounds with Wartime quilts called Quilts of Valor (QOVS).
Bus Tour: Washington County wrap-up
After spending time in downtown Calais, the Collins for Senator bus made a couple more stops before heading out to lunch. The first was in Pembroke at Morgan's Convenience Store and the second was at the Whiting Village Store. At both stops Senator Collins' supporters braved the wind and were on hand to welcome her to their wonderful towns. After these two exciting stops it was time for lunch at Helen's and the Blue Bird Ranch. Both restaurants serve delectable food that satisfied all.
Bus Tour: Washington County - Downtown Calais
The second stop of the day was downtown Calais for a hot breakfast at Bernardini's Restaurant. After coffee, cinnamon rolls and a few remarks from Senator Collins, we headed down Main Street. The Senator stopped in the Boston Shoe store, Kendall's Jewelry store and the Urban Moose. While the Senator browsed the stores and spoke with residents of Calais her supporters stood on the sidewalks and waved Collins for Senator signs. Our time in downtown Calais was a great addition to the morning.
Bus tour: Airline Snackbar in Beddington
The first stop today was at the Airline Snackbar in Beddington. Senator Collins had the opportunity to speak with a number of people, including many hunters fresh out of the woods on this the first day of hunting season.

Bus Tour: York County - Kittery Trading Post
A surge of energy ripped through the Collins' Bus as the doors opened to the Kittery Trading Post. The Senator, who has kayaked her entire life, was excited to see the most recent kayak equipment and the latest kayak models. As she pursued the aisles in the trading post, she was able to talk with constituents about her support of the great outdoors.
Bus Tour: York County - Eliot Town Republican Headquarters
Senator Collins, accompanied by an enthusiastic group of supporters including high school students from Mt. Ararat who spent the day on the Collins' Bus tour, visited the Eliot Town Republican Headquaters where she had the opportunity to talk with Representative Sally Lewin, Senator Mary Andrews and other volunteers.
Bus Tour: York County - Lunch
For lunch, the Collins for Senator bus stopped in Waterboro where Senator Collins and her supporters ate at the Milk Room. The Milk Room, a sandwich shop, was the perfect place to recharge before heading out for the afternoon leg of todays bus tour.
Bus tour: Cornish
The next stop of the morning was downtown Cornish. The Senator stopped into the Parkview Salon and Lily's Flowershop. While Senator Collins was visiting the shops, the students from Mount Ararat High School who are riding the bus with the Senator waved signs at passing cars. The amount of support from the town residents and drivers passing by was overwhelming and made for a great time in beautiful Cornish.
Bus Tour: York County- Jongerden's Market
The second stop this morning was Jongerden's Market in North Limington. A large crowd of the Senator's supporters were gathered outside to greet Senator Collins, despite the chilly air. The Senator spoke with the stores owners and looked around the market before heading off to her next destination.
Bus tour: Low's Variety in Bonny Eagle
The Collins for Senator campaign bus is rolling through Maine today, and made the first stop at Low's Variety Country Store in Bonny Eagle.
It's a crisp morning, but that didn't deter a big crowd from welcoming Senator Collins.
Bus Tour: The Greater Portland Area
Today Senator Collins made two stops to meet with both the employees of UNUM and Hannaford Brothers . At each stop the Senator spoke with numerous supporters who had questions and well wishes for the final days of the election.
Bus Tour: AbilityOne Congressional Champion Award Presentation
Senator Collins received the AbilityOne Congressional Champion Award yesterday in Auburn at Pathways, Inc. An AbilityOne Champion is an elected policymaker who has demonstrated significant support for the AbilityOne Program and participating community-based not-for-profit agencies in his or her district and/or state through congressional actions. Not only has Senator Collins shown her program support through her ongoing work on a modernization of the Javits-Wagner-O’Day Act but also she has worked hard in Maine to ensure her constituents who are blind or severely disabled enjoy employment opportunities under the AbilityOne Program.
Bus tour: New Balance Factory in Norridgewock
After a wonderful lunch Senator Collins headed to the New Balance Factory in Norridgewock. New Balance's Executive Vice President Herb Spivak and Plant Manager Jeff Williams were on hand to accompany Senator Collins on the tour. It was fascinating to see how New Balance sneakers are made. The Senator was excited to speak with the numerous Mainers who are responsible for making such high quality tennis shoes right here in Maine.
Bus Tour: Skowhegan
This afternoon Senator Collins stopped in Skowhegan for lunch at the Empire Diner with a group of her supporters. While at the diner Senator Collins was honored with a local tradition, the Sham Foundation Muffin Endowment. While waiting for her lunch the Senator was able to speak to other diners at Empire. Following her meal Senator Collins walked down Main street and stopped into the Bankery, a local bakery, for a post meal treat.
Bus tour: GCS in Pittsfield
The Campaign Bus rolled into Pittsfield, for a stop at Global Contact Services. Senator Collins discussed small business issues, including healthcare.
Bus Tour: Vic Firth in Newport
The Collins for Senator bus tour visited the Vic Firth manufacturing facility in Newport this morning. Vic Firth has manufactured drum sticks since 1963, and Mr. Firth himself was there to give Senator Collins a tour.
Bus Tour: Westbrook and South Portland
This morning the Senator stopped for breakfast at Guidi's Diner in Westbrook. It was the prefect place for the Senator to chat with her constituents and have a wonderful blueberry muffin. After breakfast, Senator Collins headed over to Disability RMS for a tour. Following the tour the Senator drove to the South Portland Community Recreation Center for a meet and greet before the Bingo festivities began. The weekly Bingo group was excited to speak with the Senator and to show her their creative Halloween costumes.
