Charlie Summers campaign update

By ldutson - Posted on 31 January 2008

Here's a campaign update from the Charlie Summers for Congress campaign:

Dear Friend,

I am so proud and thankful of every person that has stepped up to the plate to help with Charlie's campaign. It is because of you that news about Charlie, his experiences in Maine and his outstanding record of twenty years as a public servant to the people of Maine is being told throughout the district.

Yesterday, I was pleased to read the op-ed that I submitted to the Portland Press Herald - Small Businesses Need One Big Thing

Small business is a piece of our economy that Charlie knows well and convincingly believes is key to our future.
In his capacity as former regional director of the Small Business Administration, Charlie learned the best way to spark sustained economic growth is to boost small businesses, which created the majority of net new U.S. jobs over the last decade.

Charlie believes Congress can stimulate significant growth among American small businesses -- without any cost to taxpayers -- by authorizing Small Business Health Plans, a measure that has been on the table for several years.

I invite you to read the article at www.summersforcongress.org

I am also pleased about the number of current and former Republican Legislators as well as former party leaders that have joined the Summers for Congress team. Charlie and I understand the importance of the endorsement by these leaders of our party and leaders in Maine.
