Scott Fish on Scontras Economic Teleconference
From AsMaineGoes:
Republican First District Congressional candidate Dean Scontras deserves high marks for holding an economic teleconference on Monday night open to the public and the press. Attendees were told at the start by campaign staffer Dan Schuberth the event would be 30-45 minutes long with a 10-minutes of opening remarks by Dean Scontras, followed open phone questions from the public and press.
Mr. Schuberth, explaining the teleconference format, said, “Let’s share ideas and solutions. Anything on this call is certainly on the record. The call will be recorded and available on the Scontras campaign website.”
Mr. Scontras opened his segment saying he would use teleconferencing during his campaign and as a Member of Congress. He then spoke for about 20-minutes on the “good and bad news” of the national and state economy, focusing on taxes, regulations, energy, and entitlement programs.
“The financial forecast is dim,” said Scontras. “No one has a crystal ball. No one has a silver bullet solution. The crisis was created by the tax-and-spenders in Washington, D.C. and it needs to be fixed by creative thinkers” in Maine and the rest of the nation.
